Joe Heffernan Counselling Service Cork

Photo shows my wife Mary, myself and our 4 children, Ken, Colin and twins Joseph and David at my Higher Diploma in Counselling Graduation, with the then President of UCC, Dr. Michael Mortell, in 1998.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) in 1969 from UCC And I received my Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in UCC in 1989.

I do a 45 minute weekly spot on radio (C103) each Tuesday on Patricia Messenger's show (North Cork Today) after the 12 o'clock news. We have covered such topics as those mentioned in the "Counselling" section.

Carl Berkeley Memorial Award Quoting the IACP criteria for the awarding of the Carl Berkeley Memorial Award, it, Is open to the IACP accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist, who is deemed to have made an outstanding contribution to the development of Counselling and Psychotherapy in Ireland.

It is awarded to only one of the 3,500 IACP members each year and the grateful recipient for 2018 was Joe Heffernan. Joe felt honoured to be chosen by his peers and is very grateful to be the 2018 recipient. Joe has been working in his practice in Boherbue in NW Cork for over 20 years as an accredited member and accredited supervisor of IACP.
